Welcome, thank you for visiting!

My global performance career began in 1982 at The Goldston School for Mimes in Gambier, Ohio, where I participated in Marcel Marceau’s US seminars from 1985 - 1987, initiating an eighteen-year mentorship with Marceau, and assisting in later seminars. A founding member of Invisible People Mime Theater and a veteran solo performer, I have been fortunate to have performed throughout North America, in Asia, Eastern Europe and the Balkans, the Middle East and West Indies. I continue developing new work and evolving my artistic practice, based on four decades of solo and guest artist performances, ensemble collaborations in physical theatre and the Theatre of Metamorposis, residencies and mentoring of young artists through his role on faculty at the University of Arizona’s School of Theatre, Film & Television.

My artistry is based in the use of empathy driven connections with the subject of my creations, exemplified in the recent production of The Climate Project, a Theatre of Metamorphosis devised physical theatre performance addressing life’s metabolic footprint, damage to ocean reefs, and an aerial ballet celebration of the diversity of life in the Sonoran Desert of Arizona and Mexico.

My work is rooted in explorations of our humanity, in all of its expressions, and our relationship with the more-than-human world, searching for ways to make performance that de-others and helps us find empathic and compassionate connections. Life is relationship.

My artistic horizon:

“Theatre is a place where we must hold space for all of humanity. Theatre of Metamorphosis is a place where we must hold space for all of creation.”
